Re: Am I remembering a 'lost' episode of the Phil Harris & Alice Faye Program?
I don't remember the episode involving vaccinations but I do have one episode that includes the 'warm-up'.
What we've done in our household is to run a 'search' on that drive for the current date sans year to wit:
search - ??0617*.mp3
- which would be a search for any episode that was originally broadcast on the day of June 17th. once displayed I copy them to a singular subdirectory - j:\june\17
Now I have a dedicated directory with a very SHORT pathname from a drive that has almost 70 thousand radio shows. Then, I will gleen out the duplicates... there are always several.
Going to my favorite player I create another playlist and
refer that dedicated directory. This makes it so much easier to identify individual episodes. Sorting by filename an instant later I have a playlist that lists all the episodes that I have collected for any particular day of the year. (remember I have already eliminated the duplicates)
Now my Mrs just loves the westerns ... sooooooooo.......
I rearrange the playlist to have a western then a comedy; a western then a drama, a western then a variety show; a western then a detective show ..... et al.
Using an ipod fm gizmo (originally designed for playing the ipod through the car radio) when the 'putter plays a show it is broadcast throughout the haus on an fm channel. Then we tune in the OTR out on the patio, on the screened in side porch, or back in the den on the facimile antique radio.
Oh yeah, we also have had great fun burning a cd for friends of OTR programs originally broadcast on their own bithdate that includes progams from the 30's to the 70's.
